Health Access Cooperative—Direct for Individuals, or Co-op Direct, is built for people who want the peace of mind of knowing they have support for when major medical events happen without the high premiums, big deductibles, and endless red tape of traditional insurance.
Co-op Direct is designed to give you peace of mind for your health care when it matters most. Use your membership for:

- Emergency room visits
- Hospital stays
- Surgeries and procedures
- Maternity care (prenatal, delivery, and postnatal)
- Specialist visits for major diagnoses
- Injuries requiring ongoing treatment
- Mental health needs
- Preventive mammograms and colon cancer screenings
- Other eligible large, unexpected medical expenses
- Discount prescription service

Here's How It Works

GET THE CARE YOU NEED

Visit any provider of your choice. With Co-op Direct, there are no networks. Tell that provider that you are self-pay with Co-op Direct.

LET US KNOW

If you know about the medical incident in advance, such as a planned surgery, let our member support team know as soon as possible to coordinate payment directly to the provider, often in advance. If it’s an emergency, just submit your bills to us
when you get them.

PAY YOUR PER-INCIDENT DEDUCTIBLE

You’re responsible for the first part of the cost for a medical incident. This may be $1,000, $2,500, or $4,000, based on your membership. Any eligible expenses related to that medical incident above your per-incident deductible will be paid for by Health Access Cooperative.
With Co-op Direct, you will only be responsible for two of these per-incident deductibles per year. You will also benefit from an annual out-of-pocket maximum for expenses that aren’t a part of a medical incident.
