Here’s Your Preventive Care Checklist for 2021

The best way to minimize your medical expenses is to catch and treat potential medical concerns before they turn into major medical crises. That’s called “preventive” health care, and it’s so important to keeping you and your family healthy that we’ve included a preventive care service in your Health Access Benefit.

Through your preventive care service, administered by Group Dynamic, you’ll be reimbursed for preventive medical services such as dental cleanings, vision exams, flu shots, and much more. There are no network restrictions, you are free to visit any lab or doctor you’d like, and you’ll be reimbursed up to $3,250 annually for qualifying services.

Schedule an Annual Physical

First, make sure to schedule your annual physical with your primary care provider. Not only will your primary care provider keep you and your family healthier, they can also help you navigate your preventive care options. If you have not met with your primary care provider, begin this year by scheduling an initial patient consultation as soon as possible. You can access their contact information through our Help Desk.

Fifteen More Preventive Care Options

Next, when you meet with your primary care provider, either at your initial patient consultation or at this year’s annual physical, make sure to discuss your preventive care options with them. Here is a checklist of just 15 ways you may be able to access preventive care in 2021:

  1. Get your flu shot.
  2. Schedule regular dental cleanings.*
  3. Schedule a vision exam.*
  4. Schedule annual well-child exams for your children with their pediatrician.
  5. Order a Cologuard at-home test to screen for colon cancer.
  6. Have a lipid panel done to check your cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
  7. Check your Vitamin D levels.
  8. Have a heart screening for c-reactive protein and homocysteine levels.
  9. Seek mental health treatment and counseling if needed ($250 annually per member).
  10. Schedule an annual gynecological exam (women, age 21 and over).
