Why We Increased Mental Health Reimbursements
In 2020, 45% of adults in the U.S. received some type of mental health counseling. In 2019, 15% of individuals who went to counseling also took medication for a mental health diagnosis.
Before they started counseling, 50% of people said that the out-of-pocket cost and insurance coverage were some of the most important factors in selecting their counselor. And overall, 40% of Americans have participated in counseling at least once in their life. Fortunately, 75% of them rated it as an overall positive experience.
Your mental health is just as important as your physical health, and we’re here to support you through it all. That’s why we have increased our mental health expense reimbursements per year from $500 to $3,000.

Preventive Care Services
Your Preventive Care component of your Health Access Benefit empowers you to make the best health care decisions for your family. This program reimburses Preventive Care services such as flu shots, lab tests, mammograms, colonoscopies, vision exams, dental cleanings—and now mental health expenses, too!
Every year, you can submit reimbursements for up to $3,000 of mental health expenses. Whether you’re seeing a psychiatrist for anxiety or depression or a counselor for substance use, you can get the help you need from the provider of your choice. How to Submit a Reimbursement for Mental Health Expenses

- Find the preventive reimbursement form online here or text the word “preventive” to (239) 299-0333.
- Complete the preventive reimbursement form. Don’t forget to include an itemized receipt.
- Submit your preventive reimbursement form, and your request will be processed within 10 business days.
